DIPF

The DIPF (Deutsches Institut für Internationale Pädagogisceh Forschung, Frankfurt) is a research-based service institute. It regards itself as a multidisciplinary forum for national and international scientific discourse on issues of educational quality as well as a national center of compentency for information in the field of education. Two thematic priorities determine the Institute's profile: educational information and educational research.

The institute supports research, practice, administration and policy in the field of education, gathers and disseminates specialized information using modern communication procedures; it advises and supports initiatives to improve and assure quality in education, evaluates educational programmes, educational institutions and educational systems; it contributes to the theoretical, empirical and methodical bases of national and international educational research with its own research projects and promotes young academics and non-academic junior staff.

The tasks and activities concerning educational information are largely carried out by the Information Center Education and the Library for Research on Educational History, those concerning educational research by the Centers for

  • Educational Quality and Evaluation,
  • Planning and Financing in Education as well as
  • Education and Culture

In the case of overarching projects the five Centers cooperate.
