Hessen welcomes the world
Hessen is a European center of science and technology – Hessen is situated in central Germany and in the middle of Europe. It has a large number of higher education institutions which provide both first-class research and teaching. Once people have arrived at Frankfurt airport, the largest airport in Germany, they can get to a large number of universities as well as numerous non-university research facilities and research-oriented companies within about an hour’s drive.
The following pages are part of the project “Hessen and Scientific American”, which aims at presenting the innovative strength and the high quality of Hessian research and technology to an international audience. Hessen published the brochure “Hessen – European center of science and technology” in the US-magazine “Scientific American”. The brochure, which you can download here, tells you more about the quality, versatility and inventiveness of Hessen, where academic and economic developments are brought together for fruitful co-operations. Further information about the various universities and research institutions as well as their research projects is provided on the following pages.
Hessen has five Universities, five Universities of Applied Sciences, two Universities of Art and Design and a large number of Public Research Institutes. You are invited to find out what Hessen has to offer and welcome to participate in the high quality research system.
